DAY 293

The Poor Widow's Two Small Coins

Mark 12:43-44
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
ἡ χήρα αὕτη ἡ πτωχὴ πλεῖον πάντων ἔβαλεν...αὕτη δὲ ἐκ τῆς ὑστερήσεως αὐτῆς
📜 THE VERSE

This poor widow has put in more than all the others. They gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all she had.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Do I measure what I gave by its amount, or by what share of myself it actually was?

📝Reflection

The wealthy gave large sums from their surplus; this widow gave a tiny coin, but it was everything she had. By amount, there is no comparison — yet this saying completely overturns that arithmetic. Worth is measured not by amount, but by the share it represents of one's whole. A small gift from someone with nothing can weigh more than a large gift from someone with plenty.

🌱Apply It Today

When you give something today, think not of the amount but of what share of yourself it represents.
