DAY 239

The Poor in Spirit, Ready to Be Filled

Matthew 5:3
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοὶ τῷ πνεύματι
📜 THE VERSE

Blessed are those who are poor in spirit, for the deepest things come to fill an empty place.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

What have I filled my mind with, leaving no room for what truly needs to enter?

📝Reflection

At first I thought it a strange blessing — how can poverty be a blessing? But the poverty here is not of the wallet but of an attitude of mind. A bowl that thinks itself already full can hold nothing more. The humility to admit one's own emptiness is the first door through which learning and insight can enter. Every time I believed myself clever, I later realized I had learned less. Only an empty cup can be filled.
