DAY 34

With the Humble Comes Wisdom

Proverbs 11:2
기원전 10~4세기
ORIGINAL
בָּא־זָדוֹן וַיָּבֹא קָלוֹן וְאֶת־צְנוּעִים חָכְמָה
📜 THE VERSE

When pride comes, disgrace follows; but with the humble comes wisdom.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

In my rush to get ahead, am I sidelining humility — the greatest wisdom of all?

📝Reflection

Pride and disgrace always travel as a pair. The higher one lifts the neck, the harder the fall wounds. By contrast, wisdom lingers beside the humble, for one who lowers himself always stands in a place to learn. The Hebrew sage saw humility not merely as a virtue but as a precondition of wisdom. As ripe grain bows its head, the truly knowing do not push themselves forward. Humility is not the servility of belittling oneself but the clear eye that knows there is still more to learn. Only the one with that eye keeps growing without falling.
