DAY 67

Slow to Anger Is Better Than Mighty

Proverbs 16:32
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
טוֹב אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם מִגִּבּוֹר וּמֹשֵׁל בְּרוּחוֹ מִלֹּכֵד עִיר
📜 THE VERSE

One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit than one who takes a city.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

I try to conquer the world, yet how clumsy am I at ruling a single flash of anger inside me?

📝Reflection

Living long enough, I learned that ruling one's own heart is harder than taking a fortress. An enemy outside is visible, but the anger within swallows you in an instant. One flash of anger restrained makes a person larger than ten victories won. The truly strong are not those who defeat others, but those who defeat the sudden heat rising in themselves.

🌱Apply It Today

When anger flares today, breathe slowly three times before you answer. Those three breaths defend a whole city.
