מְכַסֶּה־פֶּשַׁע מְבַקֵּשׁ אַהֲבָה
📜 THE VERSE
One who covers an offense seeks love, but whoever repeats a matter separates close friends.

That matter already over — how many times have I dug it up, hurting both of us again?
📝Reflection
Digging up an old wrong seems to punish the other, but it really punishes the bond. Once an apology is given, to cover it over is the skill of love. Covering is not pretending to forget — it is closing the door so the matter can gnaw at us no further. Leave that door open, and eventually the person walks out through it.
