DAY 89

Train a Child in the Way

Proverbs 22:6
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
חֲנֹךְ לַנַּעַר עַל־פִּי דַרְכּוֹ
📜 THE VERSE

Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Do I teach a child by my words, or by the back of the figure I walk as?

📝Reflection

Only later do I learn that a child copies not a parent's words but a parent's back. The grain set into the body in youth is hard to erase even in old age. That is why this verse is weighty: the attitude I show without thinking now can become one person's lifelong direction. Teaching is not lecturing but walking the path myself first. The child walks along that path.

🌱Apply It Today

Before a child (or a junior) today, show it yourself once before you tell them in words.
