DAY 109

Do Not Boast About Tomorrow

Proverbs 27:1
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
אַל־תִּתְהַלֵּל בְּיוֹם מָחָר כִּי לֹא־תֵדַע מַה־יֵּלֶד יוֹם
📜 THE VERSE

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Clutching a tomorrow not yet come, am I letting today slip through my hands?

📝Reflection

Plans I held with such confidence, as if I knew all of tomorrow, went awry overnight more than once. Life is far less predictable than I expect. This verse means not to frighten but to invite me to live today humbly. As the old man's horse taught, fortune and misfortune keep trading places. All things flow and change. So rather than guarantee tomorrow, it is better to live this one day with care.
