DAY 111

Better an Open Rebuke Than Hidden Love

Proverbs 27:5
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
טוֹבָה תּוֹכַחַת מְגֻלָּה מֵאַהֲבָה מְסֻתָּרֶת
📜 THE VERSE

Better is open rebuke than love that is concealed.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Fearing the bond might sour, am I hiding the very sincerity it needs?

📝Reflection

Afraid a hard word might sour a bond, I often kept my care inside and said nothing outwardly. But that silence was not always love. This verse says an open rebuke beats a hidden love. Good medicine is bitter to the mouth. One who truly cherishes you will say the needed word even at the risk of being disliked. The one person who points out my faults is, in fact, the one who loves me most.
