DAY 26

Wisdom Is Better Than Pearls

Proverbs 8:11
기원전 10~4세기
ORIGINAL
כִּי־טוֹבָה חָכְמָה מִפְּנִינִים וְכָל־חֲפָצִים לֹא יִשְׁווּ־בָהּ
📜 THE VERSE

Wisdom is more precious than pearls; nothing you desire compares with it.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Chasing only the visible treasures, have I missed the more precious invisible one?

📝Reflection

A pearl, once lost, is gone; but wisdom, even when shared, does not shrink. This single difference makes wisdom more precious than any jewel on earth. The Hebrew sage grieved that people guard pearls with their lives yet stay indifferent to wisdom. Jewels can be stolen and melt in fire, but the discernment once absorbed into the body no one can steal. Socrates stood tall with nothing because he held that unstealable wealth. Pour your heart only into visible treasures and you will pass by the invisible one that would guard you for a lifetime.
