DAY 342

Do Not Be Proud, but Keep Company with the Lowly

Romans 12:16
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
μὴ τὰ ὑψηλὰ φρονοῦντες, ἀλλὰ τοῖς ταπεινοῖς συναπαγόμενοι.
📜 THE VERSE

Live in harmony with one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the lowly.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Do I treat people differently according to what they possess?

📝Reflection

Paul says do not set your mind only on high places but willingly keep company with the lowly. The Greek synapago means "to be drawn along together," with the sense of humbly going down to their side. People quietly weigh others by status and wealth, growing warmer toward those who might benefit them. I too was not free of that scale. But once you begin sorting people by what they have, you lose the eye to see the person at all. The one who can gladly keep company with the lowly is, in truth, the highest of all.
