산수 병풍
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"Why does a scene blurred by mist appear deeper?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is a landscape screen by the Japanese painter Shiokawa Bunrin, in which mountains and water sunk in mist spread softly. The lyrical mood of Japanese painting runs thick, yet its feeling reaches anyone. In this painting I see the virtue of haziness. When all is distinct, mystery vanishes, but a scene veiled in mist summons the imagination. Because not everything is visible, the heart enters more deeply. At times, to veil things faintly conveys more than to reveal them clearly.

Do not try to explain everything; leave a lingering resonance, a place for imagination.
