Korea Work 4
"What did a scene of guarding the palisade and holding off the enemy mean to honor?"
📝ONGO's Reflection
This work is a documentary painting that preserved, in an album, the holding of a frontier palisade against the enemy. The brush turned not toward a brilliant victory but toward the keeping of a place. I see here the memory of those who endured. What does not fall is often unseen, yet because someone held that place, all behind it was safe. Holding is quieter than attacking. But what one never let go of, to the end, is as worthy of being long remembered as what one newly gained.

Call to mind one place you are quietly holding now, and grant its worth yourself.
