Mori Ransai Flowers and Birds

🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"Why is it precious to pour devotion into small, fragile things?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is a bird-and-flower painting in color on silk by the Japanese painter Mori Ransai, in which flowers and birds blend in delicate harmony. The precise depiction of Japanese painting shines, yet its heart rings true in any land. In this painting I see devotion toward small lives. A brush that missed neither the grain of a petal nor the direction of a feather does not regard small things as trifling. The world exalts what is large, but the eye that examines the small to the very end makes true depth. Devotion does not choose by the size of its object.

🌱Apply It Today

The more trivial a task seems, the more you should give it your full devotion through to the finish.
