🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What is the heart that drew, again and again, a mountain that rises unchanging?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is Mount Fuji painted by the Japanese artist Kawanabe Kyosai. In Japanese painting, Fuji was drawn over and over as the symbol of a mountain long unchanging. Acknowledging its origin, I read at the same time a heart that carries anywhere. It is a longing toward what is always in its place. The world changes ceaselessly, yet gazing at a mountain that rises without wavering, a person gains relief. The belief that something unchanging exists sustains a person amid change. That steadfastness sent Fuji onto the canvas again and again.
