"Why did an entire nation record the birth of one child in painting?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

The ceremony celebrating the birth of a crown prince was recorded without a single gap across a ten-panel screen. Rows of officials, an orderly procession, and a space of full formality inscribed one person's beginning as an event of the state. The reason a single life's birth was preserved with such care is that a beginning is, by its nature, a promise the whole community bears together. Someone's departure is not the affair of that one person alone. When we celebrate another's beginning, we quietly stake something of ourselves on their future as well.
