DAY 31

Do What Must Be Done, Without Clinging

Bhagavad Gītā 3:19
기원전 2세기경 편찬(서사시 전승)
ORIGINAL
tasmād asaktaḥ satataṁ kāryaṁ karma samācara
📜 THE VERSE

So, unattached, keep doing steadily the work that must be done; for one who works without clinging reaches the highest state.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Do I confuse releasing attachment with dropping the work, letting my hands go idle in the name of emptying my mind?

📝Reflection

I love how this verse corrects a common misreading of non-attachment. To empty the mind does not mean to drop the work, but to keep doing what must be done while releasing only the clinging to results. The key is that balance — hands moving diligently while the mind stays unbound to outcomes. This is exactly the place of 'do your utmost, then leave heaven's share to heaven.' So I do not grow lazy under the excuse of emptying my mind; I hold steadiness and non-attachment as one body.
