Smaller Than Small, Greater Than Great
Smaller than the smallest, greater than the greatest, the Self dwells in the cave of the heart of each living thing. Only one who lays down craving, whose mind is cleared, sees its greatness and is freed of grief.
Is the deepest place in my heart a cave I have never looked into, hidden by noise?
📝Reflection
This ancient image strikes the heart: the most precious thing hides not in the far sky but in the cave of the heart. Yet the condition for entering that cave is telling — not having more or knowing more, but laying down craving until the mind clears. Muddy water grows murkier the more you stir it, and left alone it clears on its own until the bottom shows. So it is with our minds. The way to see the Self lies not in adding something but in letting the noise settle.
🌱Apply It Today
Sit for five minutes today doing nothing, and simply wait for the muddy water of the mind to settle on its own.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
