📜 THE VERSE

Within the one, know the countless; within the countless, know again the one.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Have I ever reckoned how many connections gather within the small one that is me?

📝Reflection

This verse says the world is not a heap of separate fragments but one body, woven like a net. The whole world is held within a small one, and that small one is reflected within the whole world. I see this in my morning cup of coffee. Within that single cup are the sweat of a farmer in a distant land, sunlight, rain, the sea that floated a ship, the hands that brewed it. A whole world is in one cup. Conversely, within that farmer's day are reflected all the people like me who will drink the coffee. We often feel "I am alone." But this verse points out: the one that is me is never an isolated dot. It is a knot tied by countless connections. Knowing this, loneliness shrinks and gratitude grows. How many unseen hands held me up, just so I could be here.

Look at one thing in your hand today — coffee, clothes, a phone — and reckon the unseen hands it passed through to reach you. I am never an isolated dot.
