DAY 258

He Saw Him and Was Moved with Compassion

Luke 10:33
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
Σαμαρίτης δέ τις ὁδεύων ἦλθεν κατ' αὐτόν, καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὸν ἐσπλαγχνίσθη
📜 THE VERSE

But a Samaritan traveler came upon him, and when he saw him, he was deeply moved with compassion.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

While calculating whether to help, how many people have I already passed by?

📝Reflection

A priest passed by, and a Levite passed by too — people of unblemished religious standing who did not stop. The one who stopped was a Samaritan, from a people his listeners despised. This story coolly shows that belonging or status guarantees no compassion. Compassion is what makes the feet stop before the calculating finishes. When the heart moves, the body draws near without asking for reasons.
