DAY 284

Take the Lowest Place

Luke 14:10-11
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
ὅταν κληθῇς, πορευθεὶς ἀνάπεσε εἰς τὸν ἔσχατον τόπον
📜 THE VERSE

When you are invited, take the lowest place. For whoever exalts themselves will be humbled, and whoever humbles themselves will be exalted.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I straining to claim my own seat, or letting others recognize where I belong?

📝Reflection

The urge to claim the best seat in advance usually comes from anxiety. But starting at the lowest place and being invited up is far less embarrassing, and far sturdier, than seating yourself high only to be pushed down. This is not passive strategy. It is the ease that comes from a quiet confidence that one's worth needs no proof spoken by one's own mouth.

🌱Apply It Today

At a gathering today, choose the quietest seat instead of the best one.
