We did not pay for our talents, our first words, or the first love we received. We received them freely. Someone who remembers this does not treat what they have as mere possession. Clutching a free gift and trying to resell it at a price betrays the very nature of that gift. Like flowing water, what we receive must be let flow onward, or it stagnates.
