DAY 248

You Are the Light of the World

Matthew 5:14
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
Ὑμεῖς ἐστε τὸ φῶς τοῦ κόσμου. οὐ δύναται πόλις κρυβῆναι ἐπάνω ὄρους κειμένη
📜 THE VERSE

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I dimming my own light out of fear of being seen?

📝Reflection

A town on a hill cannot hide no matter how hard it tries — at night its lights leak out on their own. This verse is less a command to shine harder than a declaration of what one already is. The trouble is rarely in generating light, but in burying it under a blanket. Humility and self-erasure are not the same. Humbling oneself is beautiful, but erasing one's own existence extinguishes a light the world genuinely needed.
