DAY 290

The Eye Is the Lamp of the Body

Matthew 6:22-23
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
📜 THE VERSE

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are clear, your whole body will be full of light.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Is the very lens through which I see the world clouded right now?

📝Reflection

It is not the sun that illuminates the body, but the way the eye receives its light. Under the same sunlight, a clouded eye sees darkness while a clear eye sees brightness. This verse does not ask us to change the world outside. It asks us to clarify, first, the lens through which we receive that world. To an eye clouded by resentment and suspicion, even the finest day appears gloomy.

If today feels unusually dark, check your own eyes first, not the circumstances.
