DAY 5

Those Who Listen Dwell in Peace

Proverbs 1:33
기원전 10~4세기
ORIGINAL
וְשֹׁמֵעַ לִי יִשְׁכָּן־בֶּטַח
📜 THE VERSE

Whoever listens to wisdom dwells in peace, without dread.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

If my mind is always anxious, whose voice have I been listening to?

📝Reflection

Peace does not arrive when every outer condition is met. It comes from what we choose to listen to. Lend your ear to the voices that stoke anxiety and you tremble even inside a fortress; lend it to wisdom's low voice and you sleep even in the wilderness. The peace the Hebrew sage spoke of is not the absence of danger but the presence of an unshaken center. The Stoics called the same thing the inner citadel. Peace is not something we obtain but a house we build, day by day, out of what we choose to hear.
