Love Covers All Wrongs
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all wrongs.
Do I keep digging up others' faults, or leave room to cover them?
📝Reflection
Hatred is like a magnifying glass, enlarging even a small flaw in another. Love, by contrast, is like a blanket that covers the fault so we can begin anew upon it. To 'cover' is not to pretend the wrong never happened but to leave room not to judge a whole person by that one thing. Buddhist compassion and Confucian benevolence both hold this covering generosity. Since no one is perfect, every relationship is sustained by how much we cover each other's faults. Dig, and strife grows; cover, and love grows. Which to water is something I decide each day.
🌱Apply It Today
When someone's flaw irritates you today, instead of digging it up, recall one good thing about them.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
