DAY 45

A Kind Word Lifts the Heart

Proverbs 12:25
기원전 10~4세기
ORIGINAL
דְּאָגָה בְלֶב־אִישׁ יַשְׁחֶנָּה וְדָבָר טוֹב יְשַׂמְּחֶנָּה
📜 THE VERSE

Worry weighs down the heart, but a kind word lifts it up again.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I withholding, from someone who looks weighed down, the word that could lift their heart?

📝Reflection

Worry is a weight that drags the heart downward. Yet lifting that heavy thing takes nothing grand. The Hebrew sage said one kind word will do. We make helping others so large in our minds that we pass by the easiest thing we could do right now. A sincere word costs neither money nor time, yet it floats a sinking person back to the surface. The problem is our stinginess in withholding that one word. Cheering only in the heart is not cheering. Today, one word from my lips can change the heavy day of another.
