Wisdom Is Not Self-Made
True wisdom is not manufactured by me; it comes from beyond myself.
Do I think my own head knows it all, closing myself to wisdom that comes from beyond me?
📝Reflection
The clever often stumble at the point where they treat wisdom as a product of their own head. This verse coolly overturns that arrogance: true understanding is not invented but received. When Newton said he stood on the shoulders of giants, and when Laozi saw the Dao as something to follow rather than to make, it was the same humility. Only when we open ourselves to a current of wisdom larger and older than us do our own thoughts finally ride that stream. The moment we assume we know it all, the stream is blocked.
🌱Apply It Today
When you feel certain of your judgment today, ask just once: 'Is there something I have not seen?'
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
