DAY 81

Wine Is a Mocker

Proverbs 20:1
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
לֵץ הַיַּיִן הֹמֶה שֵׁכָר וְכָל־שֹׁגֶה בּוֹ לֹא יֶחְכָּם
📜 THE VERSE

Wine is a mocker and strong drink a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I leaning on something to forget myself for a while, and postponing the real problem?

📝Reflection

This verse need not be read only about drink. Lean on anything that lets you briefly forget yourself, and the problem stays while only you grow blurred. A moment's escape is sweet, but waking leaves the room more disordered. Better to keep distance from what makes you lose your grip. A day faced with a clear mind is, in the end, the steadiest day.
