DAY 85

Strength of the Young, Splendor of the Old

Proverbs 20:29
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
תִּפְאֶרֶת בַּחוּרִים כֹּחָם וַהֲדַר זְקֵנִים שֵׂיבָה
📜 THE VERSE

The glory of the young is their strength; the splendor of the old is their gray hair.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Longing only for the strength of past youth, am I blind to the beauty of my present age?

📝Reflection

Youth has strength; age has a different beauty. This verse does not pit them against each other but honors each glory side by side. There is no need to grieve the passing of the years when you pushed through by force. In their place enters another grain — long-steeped judgment and endurance. Rather than envy youth, it is better to live out the beauty only this age can give.
