DAY 104

If Your Enemy Is Hungry, Feed Him

Proverbs 25:21
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
אִם־רָעֵב שֹׂנַאֲךָ הַאֲכִלֵהוּ לָחֶם
📜 THE VERSE

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Repaying hatred only with hatred, have I never thought to break the chain?

📝Reflection

Feeding an enemy sounds unreal at first. Yet this is not a saint's demand for the other's sake but the choice of the strongest person to break the chain of hatred. Repaying hatred with hatred is pouring oil on fire. Only one person who refuses to attach the next link can stop that chain. A heart wide as a mother holding her child — that one act of goodwill changes the board. It is possible not from weakness but because one is strongest.

🌱Apply It Today

To someone you resent today, instead of paying back, extend one very small kindness.
