DAY 105

Without Self-Control, a City Broken Down

Proverbs 25:28
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
עִיר פְּרוּצָה אֵין חוֹמָה אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר אֵין מַעְצָר לְרוּחוֹ
📜 THE VERSE

Like a city broken down, without walls, is a person who lacks self-control.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Where in my heart's wall has broken down, leaving me swayed by any passing feeling?

📝Reflection

A city with broken walls lets anyone in and out. So does a mind that has lost self-control. A single passing feeling sways the whole day; one word from another topples it. This verse draws self-control as the wall of the heart. To master oneself and keep measure is the very rampart that guards you. It is not about suppressing emotion but about raising a gate so emotion cannot occupy you whole. Only with that wall do I become the master of my own day.

🌱Apply It Today

When a feeling surges today, do not react at once — ask, "Will I let this occupy me whole?"
