DAY 112

Iron Sharpens Iron

Proverbs 27:17
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
בַּרְזֶל בְּבַרְזֶל יָחַד וְאִישׁ יַחַד פְּנֵי־רֵעֵהוּ
📜 THE VERSE

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Do I have a relationship beside me that forges me into a better person?

📝Reflection

A dull blade gains its edge only by striking other iron. So do people. A relationship that only keeps me comfortable is easy but does not grow me. This verse prizes the bond that files two people by rubbing together. As jade shines only when ground and polished, a person is honed by grappling with good people. One person who provokes and questions me keeps me from going dull. One such bond is worth more than ten comforts.
