DAY 118

Pride Brings Low, Humility Gains Honor

Proverbs 29:23
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
גַּאֲוַת אָדָם תַּשְׁפִּילֶנּוּ וּשְׁפַל־רוּחַ יִתְמֹךְ כָּבוֹד
📜 THE VERSE

A person's pride brings him low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

The harder I strive to rise, am I drifting farther from people?

📝Reflection

The harder one strives to rise, the more people drift away; lower yourself, and people gather instead — I have seen it many times. Pride seems to make me larger but really makes me lonely. This verse names that paradox plainly. Humility is not belittling yourself but leaving room to hold others. As ripened grain bows its head, the truly large person stands low. Lowering yourself, in the end, carries you to the highest place.
