DAY 232

You Have Searched Me and Known Me

Psalm 139:1
기원전 10~5세기
ORIGINAL
יְהוָה חֲקַרְתַּנִי וַתֵּדָע
📜 THE VERSE

You have searched me and known me; you know when I sit and when I rise, and discern my thoughts from afar.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Does being fully known frighten me, or is it, rather, a comfort?

📝Reflection

To be fully known is a double-edged feeling — both frightening and comforting. We live straining to show others only our good side, and so remain lonely, never fully known by anyone. This poem comforts because of the sense that even when known entirely, with nothing hidden, one is still held. I long lived wearing a mask, afraid that if my true self showed I would not be loved. But the deepest rest came before something that stayed beside me even while knowing all. To be fully known and yet not abandoned — that was the form of love a human thirsts for most.
