DAY 341

Rejoice with Those Who Rejoice, Weep with Those Who Weep

Romans 12:15
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
χαίρειν μετὰ χαιρόντων, κλαίειν μετὰ κλαιόντων.
📜 THE VERSE

Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

When did I last laugh with another's joy and weep with another's grief?

📝Reflection

Comfort does not need many words. Paul's prescription is simple: laugh together, weep together. To the grieving, weeping beside them is far greater comfort than laying out solutions. For a long time I thought comforting meant finding good words to offer. But the ones who actually comforted me in my hard times were not those who gave answers but those who simply stayed beside me. To weep together is to lay my feeling over theirs. Empathy is not a solution but a walking-alongside.

🌱Apply It Today

When you meet someone struggling today, before offering advice, stay with their feeling first: "That must have been so hard."
