DAY 339

Be Transformed by Renewing Your Mind

Romans 12:2
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
μὴ συσχηματίζεσθε τῷ αἰῶνι τούτῳ, ἀλλὰ μεταμορφοῦσθε τῇ ἀνακαινώσει τοῦ νοός.
📜 THE VERSE

Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I following because the world says it is right, or choosing after weighing it myself?

📝Reflection

The Greek syschematizo means "to shape one's outward form to another's mold," while metamorpho means "to be changed in form from within." Paul sets the two against each other: do not fit your surface to the fashion of the age, but be renewed in mind so you change from the inside. People mostly follow where the crowd goes, without much thought, because it is easy. But a life shaped to another's mold is not one's own life. Change begins not in chasing the fashion outside, but in rebuilding the thought within.

🌱Apply It Today

If you are about to do something today "because everyone does," pause and ask: "Do I truly think this is right?"
