이른 봄 산수 (작자 미상)
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What does an early-spring scene, still holding cold, foretell?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is an anonymous Southern Song Chinese landscape, holding an early-spring scene at winter's tail. Between still-bare branches, a faint breath of spring shows through. In this in-between season I see the figure of beginnings. Early spring is not lavish. The flowers have not yet bloomed and the cold has not yet gone. Yet that very subtle sign of change promises the spring soon to come. Every beginning arrives without drawing notice. The first signal of a great change is always quiet and faint, and early spring tells us so.
