🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What does a landscape in which the figure is painted small awaken?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is an anonymous Chinese landscape in which a person is set, small, amid vast mountain and water. The long-held worldview of Chinese landscape painting is in it, yet its teaching is the same in any land. In this painting I see the gaze of humility. Before nature, a person is painted small as a single dot. This is not to belittle the person, but to awaken that he is a being dwelling within a greater world. When one knows his own smallness, he ceases to be arrogant. A heart that can stand before what is great grows the person.
