The One with the True Eye
Let old karma dissolve as conditions come, and simply put on your clothes, trusting the flow.
Am I clutching what is already past, so that even today's clothes feel heavy to put on?
📝Reflection
The free person Linji paints is nothing grand. As conditions arise, old debts dissolve; trusting the flow, one simply puts on one's clothes. No straining to settle past karma, no flailing to seize the future. Just wearing what this present moment requires. I often live today heavily, dressed in yesterday's regret and tomorrow's anxiety all at once. Linji's person is light. They let the past flow on and calmly do only what is at hand. This ordinariness is itself freedom. Freedom is no special attainment — it is living the present without excess baggage.
🌱Apply It Today
As you dress this morning, imagine hanging one of yesterday's regrets on the hook and leaving it there. For today, one set of today's clothes is enough.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
