Mutual, Unobstructed Interpenetration
Each thing meets every other without obstruction, blending roundly and without end.
Have I built too high a wall between my affairs and others'?
📝Reflection
Huayan's deepest insight is that all things pass into one another without obstruction. My affairs and yours, my happiness and yours, are not separate compartments. We tend to build walls between our share and others', feeling safer that way. But the higher the wall, the lonelier we grow — a neighbor's success looks only like my loss, his sorrow only someone else's matter. "Unobstructed" does not mean erase all boundaries; it means see that the boundary is not as solid as you thought. The moment you see it, the mind grows noticeably wider.
🌱Apply It Today
At someone's good news today, try seeing it not as "his affair" but as "that good thing spreads to me too." The wall in your mind lowers by a hand's width.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
