DAY 313

Putting Away Childish Things

1 Corinthians 13:11
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
ὅτε ἤμην νήπιος, ἐλάλουν ὡς νήπιος· ὅτε γέγονα ἀνήρ, κατήργηκα τὰ τοῦ νηπίου.
📜 THE VERSE

When I was a child, I spoke and thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Have I grown up to match my years, or has only my body aged while my heart stayed the same?

📝Reflection

There is a reason Paul, speaking of love, suddenly turns to growing up. Love is the fruit of maturity. A child's love begs, "Love me," while an adult's love offers, "I will love you." Aging and becoming an adult are two different things. The body grows old on its own, but the heart does not grow on its own. To put away childish things is to slowly hand over a world that once revolved around me alone to the other.

🌱Apply It Today

When you feel the urge to demand "notice me" today, ask instead what the other person needs first.
