Love Covers a Multitude of Faults
Above all, love each other deeply, for love covers a multitude of faults.
The faults of those I love—do I expose them, or cover them?
📝Reflection
The Greek kalypto means "to cover over, to conceal." Love does not expose the other's faults to the whole world but covers them. This is not turning a blind eye to wrong but the heart that will not needlessly drag it out to shame. Hatred examines even a small flaw through a magnifying glass, while love quietly covers even a large fault. I magnified the trivial slips of those I disliked while straining to understand the grave errors of those I loved. In the end, the temperature of a relationship sets the gaze. Between exposing a fault and covering it, love always chooses to cover.
🌱Apply It Today
If you learn of someone's mistake today, choose to cover it quietly rather than drag it into the open.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
