DAY 131

There Is Nothing New Under the Sun

Ecclesiastes 1:9

📜 THE VERSE

That which has been is what will be; there is nothing new under the sun.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

That trial I thought I alone was first to face — did someone before me not walk the very same path?

📝Reflection

At first this verse sounds bleak — nothing new? But in the thick of suffering, these words become an unexpected comfort. This loss, this betrayal, this fear I feel now, someone felt exactly the same three thousand years ago. I am not humanity's first failure. This is precisely where the Stoics found consolation — countless people walked this road before me, and most arrived at the far side. To say nothing is new is an ancient reassurance: even my sorrow is not the first, and so it can be borne.
