📜 THE VERSE

Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Calculating only the return that comes at once, am I begrudging what I give without reward?

📝Reflection

Casting bread upon the waters looks at first like waste, since it seems to float away. Yet the Preacher says you will find it again after many days. Even if it does not return at once, good given without reward comes back along unseen channels of water. This is the wisdom of opening a channel without calculating results — an ancient trust in cause and effect. We count only immediate reward, but life holds seeds that ripen over time. A kindness offered today with no strings can, years later, save me from an unexpected quarter. The bread cast out does not vanish; it circles the waters and returns.
