DAY 168

Who Watches the Wind Will Not Sow

Ecclesiastes 11:4
기원전 3세기경 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
שֹׁמֵר רוּחַ לֹא יִזְרָע וְרֹאֶה בֶעָבִים לֹא יִקְצוֹר
📜 THE VERSE

Whoever watches the wind will not sow, and whoever gazes at the clouds will not reap.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Waiting for perfect conditions, am I delaying with the seed already in my hand?

📝Reflection

If a farmer waits only for perfect wind and clouds, he will never sow. Conditions are always a little short, and the perfect time never comes. The Preacher says that the more one knows impermanence, the more one should act now. Since we cannot know the whole future, waiting for certainty is the same as doing nothing. As the Buddha said, "cross the flood neither halting nor straining" — do not freeze waiting for perfection, but take the one step possible now. Uncertainty is not a reason to delay action but the reason to begin now. The seed grows not on the perfect day, but on the day it is sown.

🌱Apply It Today

Take one thing you postponed "until conditions are right," and begin just the first step with conditions still lacking.
