Light Is Sweet, and It Is Pleasant to See the Sun
Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun.
Did I once, even once, feel that a single ray of sunlight through the window today was beautiful?
📝Reflection
The Preacher, who repeated "vanity" so often, praises light near the book's end — the morning sun, that ordinary light touching the eyes, is beautiful. Where one arrives after passing through impermanence is not cynicism but a deep gratitude for the small beauty of daily life. That we live to see the light — this seemingly obvious fact is in truth a daily gift. As the Buddha said "be a lamp unto yourself," the light of life is not far off but at this morning's window. Only one who knows impermanence knows that this single ray belongs to a today that will never come again. And so it is the more radiant.
🌱Apply It Today
When you meet sunlight at a window or outdoors today, pause ten seconds to feel: "I am alive to see this light."
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
