DAY 63

Pride Goes Before Destruction

Proverbs 16:18
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
לִפְנֵי־שֶׁבֶר גָּאוֹן וְלִפְנֵי כִשָּׁלוֹן גֹּבַהּ רוּחַ
📜 THE VERSE

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

The place where I feel most sure of myself — is it also where I have grown most careless?

📝Reflection

Watching people fall for long enough, I noticed one thing: they were never more confident than just before the fall. Pride quietly removes the handrail at the top of the stairs. The one who steps back and doubts himself precisely when things go well is the one who lasts. The moment arrogance rises is the very moment to bow lower.
