DAY 114

Concealing Faults Does Not Prosper

Proverbs 28:13
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
מְכַסֶּה פְשָׁעָיו לֹא יַצְלִיחַ וּמוֹדֶה וְעֹזֵב יְרֻחָם
📜 THE VERSE

Whoever conceals his faults does not prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them finds mercy.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

By hiding my fault, am I actually carrying a heavier load?

📝Reflection

Hiding a fault seems to pass for the moment, but the concealment keeps becoming weight inside. The nervous fear of being found out gnaws at me more than the fault itself. This verse says plainly it is better to admit and mend. To correct a fault and move toward good is not shame but courage. Only by spitting out the stain does the heart grow light. The one who spends on mending the strength he would spend on hiding is the one who ends up free.
