Proverbs 28:26

ORIGINAL
בּוֹטֵחַ בְּלִבּוֹ הוּא כְסִיל וְהוֹלֵךְ בְּחָכְמָה הוּא יִמָּלֵט
📜 THE VERSE

One who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom is kept safe.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Trusting my own judgment too much, do I leave no room to hear another's counsel?

📝Reflection

Pushing on by only what my heart told me, I came to grief more than once. Certainty is often illusion, and feeling frequently deceives me. This verse calls trusting only one's own heart folly. The one who humbly borrows another's wisdom and doubts his own judgment once more avoids danger. My heart is a good compass, but not the only one. Keeping one other pair of eyes beside me — that is the way of walking wisely.
