DAY 221

A Lamp to My Feet

Psalm 119:105
기원전 10~5세기
ORIGINAL
נֵר־לְרַגְלִי דְבָרֶךָ וְאוֹר לִנְתִיבָתִי
📜 THE VERSE

A word of wisdom is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

What "lamp" do I carry, step by step, through the dark?

📝Reflection

This verse is where the name of this cluster, "the Lamp of Wisdom," was born. An ancient lamp could not shine far like a headlight today; it lit only the very next step. Here lies a truth of life. We always want to see the whole road in advance, but wisdom only lights the next step. I long grew anxious that I could not see all the way ahead. But a lamp was always a one-step thing. Take that one step, and the next brightens. Not trying to see everything, but trusting and taking the one step that is lit — that was the only way to walk through the dark.

🌱Apply It Today

Before a daunting task today, instead of the whole plan, decide only "the very next step" that is lit, and do just that.
